Program Descriptions

TACS IN TRAINING (TNT):

TNT is Thames Aquatic Club’s Introductory to Competitive Swimming group. For swimmers ages 6 through 12 with little or no organized swim experience.Children will learn all 4 strokes and the drills used to improve efficiency and stroke technique.  Turns, starts, how to read a pace clock are incorporated!

Practices once a week on Saturday


NAUTILUS:

NAUTILUS is TAC’s first level of competitive swimmer. These swimmers must have the desire to learn all four competitive strokes. We focus on technique and drills in this group. Swimmers at this level will also be introduced to simple training techniques and improved endurance all while having fun! Nautilus swimmers will also begin to focus on the physiological \ systems along with technique training. They will participate in local meets.

Practices are held 3 times per week (4 sessions offered)


TRITON:

TRITON are a group of swimmers with solid, fundamental skills and have a desire to reach their competitive potential. They are ready and willing to develop a more extensive training base. IM and distance events are encouraged to develop versatility. The Sea Lions represent TAC in local meets and participate in various championships. Travel meets may begin to be introduced.

Practices are held 4 days per week 


SEAWOLF:

SEAWOLF are an elite group of swimmers who are dedicated to making an increased commitment to swimming at the club or High School level. While technique will continue to be stressed, it will be done within the structure of increased training. Additional meet opportunities may be provided to introduce the Seals to higher levels of competition. These swimmers will also represent TAC in local and higher meets. Travel meets may be incorporated.

Practices are held 5 days per week
